Drs. McRoy and Coker both grew up in Huntsville and share a deep love for our city. They aspire to build a business that provides exceptional, state-of-the-art eye care while cultivating community. Whether promoting other local businesses, supporting local charities, or offering frame lines with a purpose, R City strives to incorporate community in all we do!
From the Ground Up
Designed with a vision to serve you, R City was built from the ground up by local vendors. Starting with the beautiful rustic custom shelving and tables built by Reclaimed Barn Wood Stuff (@reclaimedbarnwoodstuff), the elegant cabinetry designed by the rockstar team at Woodcraft Specialties, LLC, to the edgy design of our super cool metal wall sign created by Dropmetal (@dropmetal), our office is a showroom for local talent. We continue to fill our walls with commissioned pieces of art from super-talented artists like Ashton Huffstetler (@ashtonhuffstetlerart) and Katie Wilson (@katiejohnsonwilson). Our community is so gifted and we are honored to showcase their talents! To learn more about these vendors be sure to follow them on Instagram.
Our City. I Care. Program
The foundation of R City Eye Care was built on making our community better, but not only by helping people see. Through the Our City. I Care. Program, you are an essential partner in our mission to seek the welfare of our city. With each eye exam and glasses/contact lens purchase you make, a portion of the proceeds is donated to a local organization. Currently we partner with 9 community organizations: Huntsville Inner City Learning Center (@HICLC), Lincoln Village Ministries (@lincolnvillageministrieshsv), Boys and Girls Club of North Alabama (@bgcnal), Manna House, Not One More Alabama (@notonemorealabama), New Hope Children’s Clinic (@newhopechildrensclinic), Asha Kiran, National Children’s Advocacy Center (@ncac_hsv), and Habitat for Humanity of Madison County (@habitatforhumanity). Each of these organizations has a heart for our city and directly benefit those in our community!
Frames with a Purpose
At R City Eye Care our frame vendors are super stars! Not only do they design fashion forward frames with superior craftsmanship, but they also incorporate ways to support great causes. Arbor Eyewear (@arboreyewear) has the “Tree+3” program in which they plant a tree and donate 3% of sales to help children in orphanages and foster care find homes. While Article One Eyewear (@articleone) donates a portion of their proceeds to the Helen Keller Foundation, which supplies children in developing nations with Vitamin A supplements to prevent blindness. A play on words, 141 Eyewear (@141eyewear) was built on the model that for every pair of glasses bought, a pair is donated to someone in need. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with such forward thinking brands.
Paying it Forward
Our mission at R City Eye Care is to seek the welfare of our city, through eye care that equips our community to see better. We appreciate the value our customers and vendors place on helping others and believe that together we are better!
